About Us
Founded in 1972, Friends of Nevada County Libraries is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and improving library services in Nevada County, California.
Vision: To support our public library system as a cultural, educational, and recreational asset.
Mission: To participate in, and support Library programs in ways that will benefit the building and maintenance of a strong public library system.
Programs
Friends of the Nevada County Library supports Library equipment, materials, and programs.

We support Nevada County Library’s Summer Learning Program for kids and teens.

Since 2005, Nevada County Reads is designed to deepen engagement in literature through reading and discussion. Everyone in the community can participate: read a book, share perspectives, attend a program, engage on social media and build a stronger community together.

These family friendly concerts are offered weekly throughout June and July. They present a variety of music to listeners of all ages, are made possible in collaboration with InConcert Sierra at the Madelyn Helling Library.

The Friends supports Sing-Along with Tawnee Kendall, Cuentos y Cantos Bilingual Storytime, Books for Babies in partnership with Dignity Health Hospital, and Stay & Play.

The Friends provides support for Ukulele for the People, Adventurer's Guild Dungeons and Dragons Club, Qigong, and weekly art programs.

The San Juan Ridge Community Library provides access to computers, WiFi , family programs and a robust collection. Please check their website for current hours and information.
